Presence: Royal Docks

The work appeared between 5-9 pm every evening between 16 – 20 December 2020 underneath Silvertown Way in London’s Royal Docks. The installation transformed a cavernous space under the road into an immense, illuminated ‘echo chamber’ filled by laser light, reacting to visitor voices.

Visitors were invited to engage with the work, activating it by singing, shouting or speaking into a void. The sounds they make were amplified, reverberated, distorted and echoed via software
